Real food!

Well, here are a couple pictures from our visit to Green Bay. Ken had a good time hiking in Zion National Park, he said it was very beautiful there. Ken finally finished his bar room he has been working on for the last few months. It turned out pretty good, he constructed the bar himself, he's so handy! We'll have to have a grand opening party soon. Bryson had his 6 month check up this week. He weighed 16.6 lbs and was 26 inches long. He has dropped from the 50th % to the 25th % for height and weight. It looks like he's taking after the petite Vandeleests. The doctor felt this was a good time to introduce solids, so Bryson has been experimenting with rice cereal. The first few times he really didn't know what to do with it (see video) but I think he's getting the hang of it now. I can't really tell if he likes it or not, we're gonna try bananas today, maybe those will taste a little better.

6 months old!

Bryson and I had a wonderful trip to Green Bay this week. My mom flew us and my sister Jess home to surprise dad for his birthday. The flight went very well, Bryson was great! He got to meet his great-grandparents Bob and Ginny Vandeleest. He had a good time playing with his cousins Skye and Vincent and took a bath with grandma in her jacuzzi tub. It's hard to believe he is 6 months old already, he is growing so fast! The weather has been pretty crazy here, we had snow and hail yesterday. I still haven't gotten my garden started yet! Ken took a vacation this week to Zion national park, he'll be home on Thursday. He took my camera so I don't have the pictures from my trip home yet. But I have some new videos on dropshots.

Peek-a-Boo

Well, Bryson just keeps on growing, he's getting more hair and has beautiful blue eyes! He's had just figured out how to work his tongue, he has been sticking it out when he gets excited. He likes to play peek-a-boo and his favorite toy is his ladybug book (it makes a fun crinkle noise-thanks Mia!). We've been working on getting him to nap on his own(he likes to be rocked to sleep) and sleeping in his crib (it's time to get him out of our bed!).

5 months old!

It's hard to believe Bryson is 5 months old already, he is growing so fast! We missed our entry last week because we were all sick with a bad cold, it was miserable! Bryson is starting to move a little better now. He can roll from side to side when he is on his back (he hasn't been able to roll all the way over yet) and he can scoot himself short distances with his legs and hips when he's on his stomach. He is exploring more with his mouth and actively seeks out toys and notices when you take them away. We had the Vandeleest family here for a visit this weekend. Bryson got to meet his two cousins for the first time. Skye and Vincent were a big help with the baby; they fed him, gave him a bath, dressed him, read stories to him so he could fall asleep and even put diaper cream on his bottom! I think all the activity wore out Bryson, he slept almost all day after they left. We celebrated Vincent's 7th birthday on Friday. I made him a train cake (see picture)!

Exersaucer!

Bryson has been sick with a cold this week so we've been laying pretty low. I added a link to Bryson's video website so you can check out some of his new videos. He is laughing more, he likes it when you blow on his belly and when you throw him up in the air and wiggle him around. He's been making this growling sound, we think it sounds like Frankenstein. We also got him a exersaucer to play in, he is interacting with toys more. He has also started exploring with his mouth, he especially likes his feet. We call his mouth his laboratory where he tests everything out. He watches the dog quite a bit now and reaches for him. The dog must look pretty funny cuz Bryson laughs at him alot. Keb thinks Bryson tastes good and we have to prevent Keb from licking him.

Bryson's first trip to Mount Hood

We went snowshoeing at Mount Hood on Monday. The weather was beautiful, it was almost too warm! It was our first outing with the baby, we took turns carrying Bryson. Boy is he heavy!

My grandfather turned 90 yrs old this December.
Happy Birthday Grandpa!
